I wish every day was the weekend.

First of all, Happy Birthday sweet boy!
So many people are obsessed with this child, it is not even funny.

Friday night, I got to drive with
and
to see
.
Then around midnight
and
and
come strolling in.
There was lots of eating and talking and staying up late, and then the next day we
So great.

Then today, with Ben resisting all the way, we saw Gnomeo and Juliet. Now trust me, it was not my first choice of movie either. But it was the only G movie, (besides Justin Bieber), and we were taking these two snit snorts:

This is one of my sweet sweet students. He doesn't talk much (like at all); however, Bennett could not have been sweeter. They were best friends for a day. It was so wonderful.

We were having a good day...

I just had to take a picture of this for 2 reasons:
1. This little love note is from a child who, the majority of the time, hates me. (Yes, he's the one who hit me.) (And yes, they can already hate their teacher in kindergarten.)
2. He did not have to ask me how to spell any of that! (We're still working on putting spaces in-between the words.)

Weekend trip to Tulsy tomorrow with 67% of my best friends, to see another 17% of my best friends.
I am so excited.

Also, Ben takes his surgery rotation test tomorrow, so maybe he'll be a little less grumpy stressed once that's over.

I trick my kids into doing work.

But seriously...

I let them "play" with Play Doh, as long as they promise to only make numbers.

I give them candy, as long as they "add" it first.

I make stupid Spongebob games, so they'll learn their coins. I hate Spongebob.

They're so dumb.. They never even know.

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Friday, February 18, 2011 brings me to Henryetta for Pop's birthday. He is the most wonderful person. I am so proud to be his daughter.
Mom, Dad, Grant, Rachel, and I are about to feast on barbeque. We're all missing Ben terribly. Mom's yelling at me to come set the table.
I love coming home.

Oh yeah...

And on Thursday he's taking me to see.....

To sum up my last two days at school...
One boy pooped in the floor.
Another one hit me.

Some photos of happier times:
We made these for their valentines. Aren't they cute?

2 out of 3 of my favorite men came to our VD party. (Even though they just sat there the whole time)

so not romantic.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I absolutely love Valentine's Day. Flowers, chocolate, hearts, pink. What's not to love? Our first Valentine's as a married couple, wasn't quite as I had expected, but wonderful none the less. I mean, who needs a special day when every day feels like Valentine's Day? Ahhhhh, I know, right?

Well we had reservations at THE most wonderful little restaurant: Cheever's. We love it. If you haven't been there -go there. And order chicken fried steak. Anyways, we had reservations for Friday night. BUT then my parents decided to come for the weekend. (Which is way better than any old restaurant.)

I was still planning on figuring something out to get Ben, and I figured I'd be getting some flowers or something at school.... But then this happened:

Now I'm sure most of you are normal, and don't even know what the first picture is. It's a target for shooting bow and arrows. And the second one is just an adorable shelf. (One of the many things I bought at the Affair of the Heart) (Also, please ignore the hideous heart piggy bank. I have a slight obsession with both: piggy banks and holiday decoration)

We both went shopping separately on Saturday, and spend an unexpected large sum of money. (And the term large is strictly relative.) Yes, that box of his cost $75 bucks! Unbelievable.

So we decided that these things would be are Valentine presents to each other. So lame.

Oh yeah, and we're going to spend tonight watching The Bachelor and eating sloppy joes, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

I love you, Benny.

P.S. He's a pretty good shot.

Weekend News

I was actually excited to get back to my little snit snorts on Friday.

These pictures weren't taken on Friday, but I just really like them.

My family came to spend the night on Friday! So of course that meant a lot of cleaning and cooking from scratch to impress them. We had Spicy Shephard's Pie (recipe courtesy of Karen Hawley), Pumpkin Pie (recipe courtesy of Kim Jenson), and Blueberry Muffins (recipe courtesy of Sally Hawley.)

Saturday consisted of Affair of the Heart for the girls, and something lame, like Bass Pro Shops, for the guys. It was wonderful.

Last night, Benny and I had the delight of keeping this little one.

He is absolutely perfect in every single way. (Except he wakes up earlier than we do.)

100th day

Yesterday was the 100th day of school! (That's a really big deal in the kdg world)

We did lots of activites throughout the day, one of which was a 100 chart. Now I know that this seems really lame. Just remember, they're 5.

They each got to complete the following sentences:

I would want 100...
a few examples from my class -
video games
silly bands
horses
Justin Biebers

I would not want 100...
drugs ("Hey, my dad used to use those.")
feet of snow
rats

I would eat 100...
oreos
pizzas
Jolly Ranchers?
Fruit Roll Ups

I would not eat 100...
pieces of broccoli
worms
snakes
...and then they just started getting gross

#4 (this is for you, Dave)

I love finding out new, interesting things about people. For example, today I found out:
a. Meag used to take horse riding lessons
b. Ben tried out to be in the Dennis the Menace movie

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Snow day #4 was great: It involved Panera, Wal-Mart, card games, Pizza Hut, Dr. Mario, Sis, and Ben.

Also, I found out that I've been telling my students that Teddy Roosevelt is on the dime. It's Franklin.

snow day X4

It's official. I'm going to be teaching until July 4th. Okay, not really... But come on!

snow day #1: sleeping, netflix with Benny, baking
snow day #2: sleeping, netflix with Benny, reading, playing in the snow with these mugs:

snow day #3: (back to being a surgeon for Ben), sleeping, cooking, reading, decorating cookies with this mug:

Isn't it completely normal in any household to watch a movie on a tiny portable dvd player, and eat a cookie, underneath the dining room table?

And of course, we shared with brother.

snow day #4: the possibilities are endless. I'm thinking trying to plow through a few more chapters of The Fountainhead, and Season 5 Disc 2 of How I Met Your Mother.
