Tornadomart

Yesterday evening, Ben and I made the trek to Htown for Easter. We were just in our own little world, Ben listening to his book on tape, and me reading A Thousand Splendid Suns. (That's right, we don't really talk much on long car trips...but we were holding hands the whole time.)

My dad calls when we're a few miles out of town, and frantically tells us to hurry up and get home, because tornados are coming! But as I've stated in a previous post, the impending threat of bad weather not-so-secretly thrills me. So we said, yeah yeah whatever, and even dared to stop at Walmart in Henryetta before we headed out to the house. We bought a Turkey Tag for Ben (that's a blog post of it's own), and then were headed out the door.

All of a sudden, the store manager dramatically called over the intercom, "A tornado is on the ground, and all customers need to head to the fitting room."

What?!?! I could not stop laughing. I am kicking myself for not taking any pictures. Because, let me tell you, it was a sight to see. We were stuck with these people for a good 30 minutes.

Now, don't get me wrong. I am not one bit ashamed of these people. In fact, I grew up with those people. And in fact, I even worked at the said Walmart in high school. Yes, I worked at Walmart.

Ben and I spend the time sitting on pillows and reading magazines...and holding hands.
